General Information(Details of the programme are shown below.)
Social sciences, in general, are concerned with the world of meaning of human beings and are divided into various branches according to the elements of this world. Language and literature have an important status among these. Language as a distinguishing feature of human beings and literature, which is an outcome of language use, are subjects of two different disciplines. Thus there is a natural and obligatory relationship between language and literature. Turkish Language and Literature is a discipline that aims at analyzing the language and literature of Turks from past to present. Old Turkic, New Turkic, Old Turkish Literature, New Turkish Literature and Folk Literature are the sub-branches of the Turkish Language and Literature Program.
