As a discipline of social sciences and part of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and Public Administration examines the theoretical background of issues such as political systems and political behavior as well as practical issues such as public policy making. Aside from detailed analysis of major actors in decision making process such as executive, legislature, pressure groups, our curriculum includes classes in Politics and Society in Turkey, Constitutional Law, Comparative Political Systems, International Relations, Political Theory, Public Administration and Public Policy. In addition to classes offered by the Department, our students enjoys opportunities to enroll in classes from other disciplines in Psychology, Anthropology and Sociology. By doing so, we aim to educate our students to develop most valuable liberal arts skills: effective oral and written communication, and critical reading and thinking. Department of Political Science and Public Administration's ultimate goal is to help students to acquire theoretical and practical backround in the discipline so that as individuals they can be instrumental not only in modernization of state and society in Turkey but also in globalizing international system. In addition to opportunities to further their education in one of the social sciences disciplines, our graduates can start their professional careers in public and private sectors.
